Real Housewives of New York City / Season Five Bravo Blogs
Ramona Singer -- OMG -- what's up with LuAnn? I thought we were so over this last year. Yes, children are off limits. Why LuAnn would fabricate that I threatened her is beyond me. As far as an apology, I gave one last year, after we filmed the reunion and in the press. How many times more do I need to? LuAnn is LuAnn and she tends to forget how passive aggressive she has been with me in the past. More importantly, why would LuAnn share this at lunch with women we all just recently met? As far as Sonja, I tend to mother people when I am close to them, as I was the oldest of four children. Sonja has been having a rough time getting past the fact she is no longer married. I know she is ready for a quality relationship with a man. It can be hard to let go, and I was speaking like a mom to her daughter when I corrected her at the table. I am not her mom, so it probably was not my place. I do love Sonja like a sister and mother -- if that's possible. Read Ramona's Bravo blog, leave her a comment.
Sonja Morgan -- Let me just say you get to know the new girls right there along with me. Even though I had met Heather in business briefly before she joined the cast, I didn't really get to know her the way I do on the show. Same goes for Carole and Aviva. You can't judge a book by its cover. I meet people to like them, but some are onions to peel and others just blow up like a bomb! Enter Harry! He is one of the best friends anyone could ever have, and we have been friends for decades. He has more friends that anyone I know around the world. He is fun, loyal, and a dedicated father. Witness him at my Masquerade Ball. He is the cat's meow. Being an aquarius he is inventive and very smart. His son with Aviva, Harrison, is a chip off the old block and will go far. He is quite the charmer. Read Sonja Morgan's blog, leave her a comment..
Luann de Lesseps -- You can see when I’m having coffee with Aviva that we’ve known each other for quite some time. In fact, I met Aviva at party right after I moved back from Switzerland and we’ve been friends ever since. I’m also friendly with her ex-husband, Harry. When we were talking about Sonja dating her ex, I felt the need to share that I’d went out for drinks with him before meeting Jacques. Aviva was not surprised and is very gracious when it comes to Harry and her friends. I decided to pull Ramona aside at Sonja’s party because I wanted to clear the air with her for questioning my commitment to my kids and for criticizing the choices I’ve made about where to live and work. My kids are my number one priority, and I’ve managed to balance being a mom with my career. Ramona’s defensive reaction didn’t shock me at all. I was prepared for her to deny any wrongdoing, but I thought it was better to try regardless of how much she protested her innocence. Read Luann's blog & leave her a comment.
Heather Thomson -- A couple of days before I was expected at Ramona's dinner party, she tagged along to Sonja and my drinks date. My dad had died just a few days before we started filming, and it was a lot, as you can imagine -- lots of change, lots of responsibility with Dad's dealings and, overall, my emotions were definitely on the surface. Ramona's comforting take on that was that I have "issues," lumping the fact that my son had a liver transplant into my dad’s death, with no warmth or concern and so I figured, why not also take the opportunity to really send her over the edge of real life struggles and share my dear friend Alexandra Elman's story? Like Ramona, Alexandra is in the wine business, but unlike Ramona, Alex lost her vision and ultimately two of her organs to diabetes in her late twenties. I probably don't need to tell you what an inspiration to us mere mortals Alex Elman is! (Go blind wine chick! She is a fabulous and fiercely strong woman who deals with her disabilities head on. This just pushed Ramona over the edge! LOL! Too much reality for Ramona to handle! Read Heather's Bravo Blog and leave her a comment
Carole Radziwill -- So, first impressions. LuAnn’s like my high school French teacher, strict and proper with great cheekbones. I spoke French once, sort of. I dated a French-Canadian and he texted me in French. I used Google Translate to read them and to convert my English replies back, but the process wore me out. We didn’t last. Sonja is restless and sultry, like Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I wonder if she’s ever dated anyone named Brick or Paul Newman. Ramona’s fun. I can’t look at her without laughing. And the more time I spend with her, the funnier she gets. I nicknamed her “Bunny,” as in Energizer. She never stops moving! Read Carole's Bravo Blog and leave her a comment
Aviva Drescher -- Watching the pedicure scene was hilarious, however, at the time, I felt vulnerable. Showing my prosthetic limbs to the world made me feel a bit naked. Nonetheless, every day I try and push myself to do something that feels uncomfortable hoping it will result in some sort of personal growth. On a lighter note, what kind of a freak brings several prosthetic legs to a pedicure salon? Me! Sonja was very funny and I loved all her questions and warmth. Understandably she was a bit nervous. She tried very hard not to let me see her sweat. I applaud her for that. She showed empathy and compassion. PREMIERE: Monday June 11, 10 pm To settle their differences, LuAnn and Ramona finally meet up to clear the air. LuAnn wants Ramona to own up to blackmailing her, but Ramona sees it differently and denies any wrong doing. Carole and Aviva head downtown for shopping and chatting while further uptown, Sonja assesses the severe water damage caused by Hurricane Irene to her townhouse. Will flirting with contractors help her? Meanwhile, Ramona gets upset after a lunch with Aviva where she discovers LuAnn's been a little too chatty and when Sonja goes M.I.A. at a GLAAD Awards event, no one is surprised by how she ends the evening.
